Amidst the current spread of COVID-19 in the Philippines, it is imperative that schools are prepared to face the challenges for upcoming opening of classes on the 5th of October 2020, thus Pitabunan Elementary School is one of the myriad of schools preparing to hurdle the many trials of the “new” normal for this school year
In accordance to the D.O.H. and I.A.T.F. Circulars & Memos social distancing is a must and vis-à-vis gathering is discouraged, the DepEd would be providing continuous learning through other means. Based on the results of the Learner Enrollment and Survey Forms (LESFs) of Pitabunan Elementary School distributed during the enrollment from May up to the present, it has been found out that most pupils (and households) are having some issues with the current internet connectivity, hence, modular instruction would be best suited as the mode of learning for this school year. Modular Distance Learning involves
individualized instruction that allows learners to use self-learning modules (SLMs), in print (or digital format) Almost 100% of the learners preferred printed rather than digital or soft copies.
To make this mode of delivery a reality, teachers participated in the various webinars and LAC Sessions aimed primarily on the Learning Delivery Modalities (LDMs) to empower educators and to familiarize them in roads less taken in education which are now driven with the Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC) for education to continue and flourish in this stalemate.
In connection to this the school provided a video presentation for parents to follow the safety guidelines on how to the self learning modules(SLMs) will be distributed and retrieved without compromising anyone’s health & welfare.
Considering that Pitabunan Elementary School is our second home, alternative work arrangements have been set up in order for us to work our way around this pandemic while at the same time providing basic, quality and accessible education.
With this in mind, here’s hoping that we will all get through this storm to be better persons in the quest to be productive citizens not today nor tomorrow but someday. Excelsior
